Argentina take 2nd match vs VTAM

Posted by devo on May 7, 2008

Argentina levelled the series 1-1 in Argentina this morning.

As a gift for Trelew fans, that overcrowded Gimnasio Municipal of Trelew - where an outstanding organization work was done, the Argentine National Men Team, coached by Jon Uriarte, defeated without any question the Australian Team in the second friendly match in the city by 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-7) with Leandro Concina as best scorer with 13 points. more ~ pictures of the series.

Not a great scoreline - 25-7 is disastrous and unseen in my memory for international mens……. but on closer inspection of the game summary, the bench played the whole game!

Why didn’t Igor, Zane, Ralph or Chicka play?

However on upside, good experience for younger players in a friendly before Paul C, Dan & Ben come back and they are out of the team alltogether.

If you really looked on closer inspection, Matthew Young played the whole 1st game, and chick played in the 2nd game.

Note that this is billed as an “exhibition game” rather than as a “friendly”. Phill DeSalvo’s blog describes it as a “scrimmage”

Back to the real action today.
