Ex-Canadian, ex-Australian men’s coach Stelio DeRocco has a talented family as this article in the Selkirk Journal points out.
Having a family member win a prestigious volleyball championship is a pretty rare occurrence. But having a father and his two sons win four different titles in the same year – in two different countries, no less – is a very spectacular feat … “Really, the pressure was on me because as the boys said, ‘It started with Mike winning it with Alberta and then Jay, the following weekend, won it with Mount Royal,’” Stelio DeRocco said proudly of the rare feat. “Like the boys said, ‘Dad, now it’s up to you. So, there was a little bit of pressure on the old man to prevail.” more
