VOLLEYCAMP ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
The inaugural Volleycamp National Scholarship has been awarded to James Winzar from Bendigo. James is a current member of the National Youth Boys’ program.
The cash-based scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the National Youth Program. The recipient is selected by the national youth coaches. Volleycamp offers the $350 cash scholarship to assist an athlete in their quest to play at the highest level.
In announcing the recipient, Australian Senior Men’s Head Coach, Russell Borgeaud said, “James has been on almost every international tour of the current Youth team and has participated in most of the AVL matches of the AIS team this year. This most significant scholarship will assist to offset some of those expenses.”
The next Volleycamp is scheduled for January 2009 at Yarra Valley Grammar in Ringwood (Melbourne) on 24, 25 & 26 January 2009. A new innovation, Masterclass, will be offered for current State/National team athletes, with seperate head coaches. A brochure and enrolment form is available from www.volleycamp.com.au
