Spike Magazine is no more

Spike Magazine has announced that the current edition is its last!

The decision is financial. Not enough of us put our hand in our pocket to support Spike. And now we nolonger have this great promotion of our sport. It’s a sad day.

Personally, I looked forward to my copy arriving in the post office box in Wonthaggi. I started reading the magazine in the car, and then settled onto the couch with a coffee to get really stuck into the text. I’ll miss it.

To Josh Lawrence and Ben Newton – thanks guys. Sorry that the community just didn’t catch the vision.

So can everyone just write a quick recap on how they watched the game? I watched on Bet365 and it was a little jumpy but had sound, reasonable picture…. always seemed to focus on the Aussies at the timeout which was cool.

Did anyone use one of the Peer-to-Peer programs to watch the game and did that offer anything better?

Great start by the Aussies. They looked really sharp. Defence was particularly good. GO AUSSIES!

Spike on the Aussie’s chances

Check out Spike Magazine’s preview of the Aussie’s chances in the olympic qualifying tournament that starts this weekend in Japan.

This is it, the time has arrived, time for the Australian men’s indoor team to prove if they’ve got what it takes to reach a third consecutive Olympic Games. The team seem primed but standing in their way are seven other nations hell-bent on securing one of the last two berths available at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

National indoor rankings

Spike Magazines’s National Indoor Club Rankings are once again up and firing for the new season. Cedars and Mt.Lofty took out the Men’s and Women’s top spots last season. The race is on to see who will be the two top club teams in the land.
